Remote location demanded precise logistics—heavy machinery was limited, so materials arrived via specialist transport. Coastal exposure required corrosion-resistant materials for boardwalks and pathways, while national park regulations enforced zero ecological disruption, all-abilities access (including gravel carpark expansion to 22 spots with accessible bays), and minimal impact on wildlife habitats during peak tourism seasons.
The 350m bitumen track, elevated boardwalks to viewing platforms, new shelter, non-flush amenities, and expanded parking now serve 15,000+ visitors yearly. Delivered on time with zero incidents, it boosts accessibility and tourism while protecting the environment—exemplifying our Sports & Recreation leadership.
This upgrade transformed a beloved landmark into a fully accessible destination.
